According to the US patent offices, Konami has just filed for the trademark Genso Suikoden, on June 22nd. This comes off the heels of Suikoden being released onto the PlayStation Network. Why do I say that? Well, the new trademark has to be for a different game then! Last time a new trademark had been registered, it led to Suikoden Tierkries for the DS. Nothing is of course dead in stone, but being a fan of the series, since there is no “6″ or “VI” on that trademark I’m left with speculating it may be a re-imagining of the first, classic PS1 title. Trend of the year? Video game adaptations have become a very popular and lucrative venture for many studios. Some do great at the box office, while others are left in the dust. But the most frequent question that arises on everyone’s mind is, why do they all suck? We’ve seen screenplays and movies of the same concept similar to many video game adaptations, yet in the game the receiving crowd always seem to chalk it up as a failure.
